Dogs? I can come on strong and I like to play a lot! Please bring any similar sized dogs to meet me!
Cats? With slow intros and close supervision I might do ok living with a feline friend.
Kids? I would do best in a home with calmer, older kiddos (13+)
Anything else you`d like us to know, Helen? I am undersocialized and the world can be a scary place for me. I am looking for someone with patience and understanding to help with my training and show me the world isn`t all that scary after all!
I`m a volunteer favorite and here`s why: `Helen has been warming up by leaps and bounds since she got here as a stray. She might be reserved in the beginning, but I can tell that she is a very sweet girl. She is such a cutie, and it is rewarding to earn her trust.` & `I adore Helen. She is smart, perceptive, gorgeous, and I enjoy just sitting with her. Don’t let her shyness fool you. Once she knows you, she is known to be a playful, goofy, interactive girl.`
I came into the shelter as a stray and the above information is all recommendations based on my behavior seen at the shelter. I have no known history. Expect to learn more about me after adoption.

Shelter Hours are 11 AM - 6 PM every day of the week.
Adoption fees vary. Dogs, cats, and rabbits are all spayed or neutered before adoption, include initial vaccinations, a microchip for I.D., and a certificate for a free health check at a number of local veterinarians.

Directions from east or west: From the east, take the Beltline or surface streets to Barger Rd, or West 11th, and head west to Greenhill Rd. Turn left on Greenhill Rd (from Barger) or right from West 11th; we're approximately a mile down the road. From the west, take Hwy. 126 to Greenhill Rd., turn left at Greenhill Rd.

Greenhill Humane Society has been caring for animals in Lane County since 1944. We operate the only animal shelter within the Eugene/Springfield area. Our programs include animal adoptions; reuniting lost animals with their families; disaster response; crisis care boarding in situations of domestic violence, medical emergencies, and other crisis situations; spay/neuter for free roaming, un-owned community cats; a pet pantry; on-site volunteer opportunities; foster care and humane education.
Last year, we helped reunite or find new loving homes for 2,826 animals. In addition, we provided 469 cat spay/neuter surgeries to assist cat caregivers in reducing feral cat over-population.
