My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Lee Lou is a 95-pound Bloodhound with a big heart to match the size of her ears. She’s a sweet, attentive, and loyal companion who will be dedicated to her person and family. She loves rubs more than anything in the world and she is one smart cookie - Lee Lou already knows 10+ verbal and hand commands! She’s eager to learn and thrives with structure.

As a true bloodhound, her nose rules her world—she loves following scents and will happily sniff her way through a long walk. She also has a strong food drive, so anything smelly and within reach is fair game in her mind!

Lee-Lou is good with other dogs with a proper introduction, as long as they respect her space and boundaries. She is also good with cats!

If you’re looking for a devoted companion who will make you laugh, love you endlessly, and keep life interesting with her nose-led adventures, Lee Lou is your girl! (LH)

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

Thank you for choosing to adopt a rescue dog! Whether you adopt from Rocket Dog or another rescue group, the fact is you will save a life. Adopting a rescued animal is a lifetime commitment! The first step in our adoption process is completing an adoption questionnaire here: https://www.rocketdogrescue.org/adopt/adoption-application/

From there, you will be contacted by a volunteer to talk more about what you're looking for and if the dog you're interested in might be a good fit.

Go meet their pets

Our dogs live both in foster homes and at the Rocket Dog Sanctuary in Oakland. The best way to arrange a meeting for a specific dog is to fill out an adoption questionnaire on our website here: https://www.rocketdogrescue.org/adopt/adoption-application/

We have adoption events every weekend throughout the Bay Area, which you can see here - https://www.rocketdogrescue.org/events/

More about this rescue

We rescue not for politics, fortune, or fame, my friend… but for the kiss of a dog. Founded in 2001 by Bay Area animal activist Pali Boucher, Rocket Dog Rescue is a 501-C3 nonprofit corporation supported completely by donations. Our all-volunteer, home-based organization guarantees that your donations are completely focused on saving dogs. Rocket Dog Rescue’s ultimate goal is to help create a world where all companion animals have loving and permanent homes.
