My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Rover is our 80-pound precious giant! He's an affectionate, happy boy who loves attention
from his people.

He spends his day at work with his foster parent, chilling in the garden and searching around to see if his human needs anything-he's quite a thoughtful boy! He is a medium energy big guy that loves to play and LOVES his walks. He's not big on stuffies, but loves to play tug-of-war with his human pals.

Rover will plop himself down and solicit massages from you, and you'll just indulge because he's the most lovable buddy. He is very smart and has the potential to be a perfectly trained dog. He loves all humans, outgoing when he meets new people, and just sits next to them until they are tired of petting him. He is house and crate trained and is doing so well with his leash manners! (When seeing other dogs he gets excited, so someone who feels they can physically handle him will do great with him.)

If you want to adopt this sweet boy and can offer him plenty of socialization, training, and exercise opportunities, please apply today-he can't wait to meet his forever family! (SG)

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

Thank you for choosing to adopt a rescue dog! Whether you adopt from Rocket Dog or another rescue group, the fact is you will save a life. Adopting a rescued animal is a lifetime commitment! The first step in our adoption process is completing an adoption questionnaire here: https://www.rocketdogrescue.org/adopt/adoption-application/

From there, you will be contacted by a volunteer to talk more about what you're looking for and if the dog you're interested in might be a good fit.

Go meet their pets

Our dogs live both in foster homes and at the Rocket Dog Sanctuary in Oakland. The best way to arrange a meeting for a specific dog is to fill out an adoption questionnaire on our website here: https://www.rocketdogrescue.org/adopt/adoption-application/

We have adoption events every weekend throughout the Bay Area, which you can see here - https://www.rocketdogrescue.org/events/
