My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Hank! This handsome young adult is looking for a loving home. With his charming block head and playful spirit, Hank is ready to be your new sidekick.

Hank always wins the 'cleanest kennel award' and is treat and toy motivated, making training fun – he's already learned "sit" and "down," and loves playing with squeaky toys and plushies. He does walk well on a leash, and if distracted, is very easily re-directed with treats.

Hank is best suited as an only dog, but can be okay with a well-matched dog with slow and careful introductions.

Treats are the way to his heart. Once he warms up, he's ready to be your lapdog and will demand plenty of belly rubs. Ready to give Hank a chance? He’s waiting for you!

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

Thank you for choosing to adopt a rescue dog! Whether you adopt from Rocket Dog or another rescue group, the fact is you will save a life. Adopting a rescued animal is a lifetime commitment! The first step in our adoption process is completing an adoption questionnaire here: https://www.rocketdogrescue.org/adopt/adoption-application/

From there, you will be contacted by a volunteer to talk more about what you're looking for and if the dog you're interested in might be a good fit.

Go meet their pets

Our dogs live both in foster homes and at the Rocket Dog Sanctuary in Oakland. The best way to arrange a meeting for a specific dog is to fill out an adoption questionnaire on our website here: https://www.rocketdogrescue.org/adopt/adoption-application/

We have adoption events every weekend throughout the Bay Area, which you can see here - https://www.rocketdogrescue.org/events/
