My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Lexie didn’t fail her last home — her food did.

Lexie is often labeled “special needs,” but here’s the honest truth:
She simply needs to stay on a urinary care diet, and she does beautifully on it.

Before coming back to us, Lexie was fed a food that didn’t support her urinary health, which led to recurring UTIs. Once she returned to the shelter and was placed on the proper urinary care food, the issues stopped completely. She has been comfortable, stable, and problem-free ever since.

That’s it.
That’s the “special need.”

Lexie has now been waiting over six months for someone to take a chance on her again — and she’s handled the wait with quiet grace.

She’s a little over 2½ years old, confident, calm, and well-mannered. She’s not demanding or clingy, but she genuinely enjoys being near her person. The kind of cat who shares space effortlessly, checks in with you, and appreciates a steady routine. Treats are absolutely her love language.

Lexie would thrive in a peaceful, low-key home. Loud, rambunctious dogs or very young children would likely overwhelm her — she prefers calm energy, soft voices, and predictability. In return, she offers steady companionship and an easy presence that makes a home feel settled.

Lexie isn’t asking for perfection.
She’s asking for consistency.
For someone who understands that the right food changed everything — and is willing to keep choosing it for her.

If you’ve ever wanted a cat who fits seamlessly into your life, who doesn’t demand the spotlight but stays close all the same, Lexie is still waiting.
