***MUST SUBMIT APPLICATION before we will respond to email or phone inquiries. Thank You for your cooperation***
Please read listings fully to the end before applying for one of our beloved rescues.
WE ARE NOT A SHELTER; WE ARE AN ALL-VOLUNTEER RESCUE WITH FULL-TIME JOBS.
Please do not contact us to look at a dog. We will contact you once we have reviewed your completed application if we think your home might be a good fit. A reference check, phone interview, and home visit will be completed before meeting an adoptable dog.
We work quickly. Please do not submit an application until you are ready to bring a new furry family member home. Expect your references to be contacted shortly after submitting your application. We adopt out to homes around WA & OR, but require that you are present for the meet and greet in Newcastle, WA.
Our adoption fee is non-negotiable. The adoption fee is due on the day of adoption in the form of a check, Zelle, or cash. We no longer accept PayPal due to their fees they charge the rescue but if the potential adopter wants to pay the fees we will accept PayPal.
Another soul destroying beautiful boy who almost lost his life. The absolute insanity to think this baby doll ended up in one of the highest kill shelters in CA is soul destroying.
Finn just wants to be loved. Disturbing to think no one wanted him & he was ready to die. The level of absolute madness here is so deeply sad for many of these beautiful souls out of CA kill shelters. He was posted with majority of his fur missing & a very bad skin infection & we can only imagine he was kept outside with how bald & itchy & red he was.
After we rescued Finn he was bought back to WA state from CA where he can’t wait to find him his loving forever home.
When we first rescued him, he was so very famished, he ate multiple bowls of food as if he is making up for lost time. In his foster home he eats clean. Fruits, vegetables, grains, raw meat & other proteins along with supplements. He also adores a good treat.
Finn is a very soft gentle soul, he is so easy his foster mum said considering what he has endured. His foster mum said Finn is a very sweet dog & loves his humans once he knows them.
This boy will look at you with so much gratitude & admiration. Lays with you & can't be happier being petted & touched. He also loves to be with his buddies & just lay with them or do whatever they are doing. If his foster friends annoy him he lets them know to stop. He always plays with 2 of them with opening their mouths & it sort of looks as though they are kissing each other.
She said he is really such a good & smart boy.
He loves everyone he meets after he knows them & enjoys being cuddled & given love. He enjoys sleeping with his foster siblings & will want to skein bed with you.
His foster mum still cannot believe someone would be so cruel & neglectful to Finn.
Finn new forever home must have a fully fenced secured backyard for his safety if it’s a freestanding dwelling. He enjoys going out into the backyard in his foster home & having a wander around. He loves sunning himself in the backyard & adores his dog friends so much. He needs a friend or friends in the home to thrive.
Finn has been great with his baths because he started having them with us in his loving foster home the moment he was rescued so he is used to them. He has also started getting used to being dried with a hairdryer. He will just let you dry him. He loves his foster mum & dad & his foster friends. He has put on a good amount of weight since being in his loving foster home & was so thin when first rescued.
Finn rides beautifully in the car & enjoys a good journey & will sit in his car seat next to you with his dog friends. He also enjoys looking out the window. Finn is a wonderful walker on his harness & leash & loves going on many walks. We are looking for a forever home for Finn where someone is home during the day or he can go with his people wherever possibly he can go with them. We are also looking for a crate free home for the little lad only. He was left in a cage in the shelter until we rescued him.
Finn is looking for a forever home who will cherish him & love him as he should be loved & be patient with him.
Finn has been around many breeds of dogs all shapes & sizes & he is currently with other dogs & fostered with other dogs in his foster home & does well with them & enjoys their company. He absolutely needs another dog in his forever home for him to thrive.
Finn is 4 years old & now 18 lbs & is perhaps a spaniel mix, what he is mixed with we are not sure at all. He is male, neutered. Had a dental scale & polish. He arrived so extremely thin & had put on a lot of weight in his loving foster home. He arrived with so much fur missing it was so sad. His fur is now so beautiful in many areas. He had a small amount of fur still growing in around his eyes & neck. He is microchipped, up to date on his shots, including DHPP, Bordatella, rabies & dewormed.
Once these shots expire we do not redo them only rabies as we do not over vaccinate our beloved dogs.
Finn has been around cats since being in the rescue & did not care about the cats but it’s always up to the new family to be responsible with their animals together. We have not had him around small children in the rescue so we do not recommend children nor cats & it’s always up to the family to be responsible with their children.
We were not there when Finn was conceived so we do not know who his parents were & it’s always up to the new potential family to look at the pictures & decide what they think his breed is.
As with all of our rescues & Finn’s friends he will need work on potty training & training, so this should be something the new family would be willing to work on & commit to. Please do not submit an application if you are not willing to commit to one of our rescues care for their whole life & that includes if they need training. Please do not email us asking is Finn potty trained or available, nor do we ship dogs anywhere as we will not respond.
We would never say anyone of our rescues are potty trained. Our rescues need homes where the people are understanding of their past & what they have been through & what they will need in their daily lives & not willing to give up on them & if they do need training in their new home will in fact take them to training & not just say they will when applying.
Finn has been through many traumas in his short time on this earth so when applying this needs to be kept in mind & for his care.
Please only submit an application if you are truly interested in adopting Finn & going through our process and have read his listing fully to the end & are wanting to adopt. If you are not responsive to our calls, emails or your references do not respond we will move on & remove your application from our system. You must be willing to go through our screening process which includes your references being checked, a phone interview & a virtual home visit due to covid & followed by a meet and greet & if it’s a good fit, up to our discretion. We will only be accepting applications for Finn who understands his needs & that meet all the requirements for this spirited little lad.
Once we find the right home for each little soul we work fast, within days so the dogs can go to their forever homes in quite a timely manner. We do not hold onto dogs for people as our goal is to save lives & please do not submit an application if you are not ready to adopt. We also cannot respond to every application unfortunately.
