Introducing Logan!
Playful Sweetheart “Lap” Dog Initially Shy
Hi, I’m Logan! I’m a sweet and gentle giant with a playful side and a deep love for snuggles. Even though I’m one of the tallest dog breeds around, I’m convinced I’m a lap dog. I take a little time to warm up, but once I feel safe, I become a loyal shadow who wants nothing more than to be near my people.
I’m friendly with adults once I get to know them and have welcomed attention from neighbors and visitors. I haven’t lived with kids, and I do better in a calm environment since loud noises and too much activity make me uncomfortable. I get along well with the female Danes in my foster home but don’t mesh with dominant male dogs—especially those my size. On walks, I mostly ignore other dogs and steer clear of the small one next door. I’ve also met cats and behaved appropriately, keeping my distance with quiet curiosity.

I know a few commands like “sit,” “come,” and “leave it,” but sometimes I like to think things through before responding. I’m fully housebroken and don’t need a crate—I’ve earned free roam status! I may swipe a sock or tissue for fun, but I’m respectful overall. I pull a little on the leash at first but settle quickly and enjoy my walks. I used to get nervous and nip when I was scared, but with patience and trust, I’ve learned to feel safe and now let my foster family handle me without any trouble. I’m even great during baths!
I’m taking Meloxicam to help with mild arthritis, and I’m eating several small meals a day to help me gain a little weight. I’ve got short nails on the middle toes of my back feet that are monitored after walks, but otherwise, I’m doing really well and don’t have any major health issues.

Fun Fact: I like to howl along with emergency sirens—it’s my big moment to sing with the city!
