My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

DOB: May 27, 2020- FIV/FeLV Negative

Meet Buddy, a sweet and affectionate boy who just wants to spend his day snuggling.

Buddy came to Toronto Cat Rescue as a stray who needed some TLC, so not much is known about his past. It took him a couple of days to accept treats and pets, but it soon became clear that Buddy is a people loving cat who enjoys following his humans from room to room asking for pets and cuddles.

Buddy will head butt your hand to let you know that he wants head and chin scratches, and he will turn into a purr machine and flop on his back if you pet him long enough. He likes to sleep in bed at night and sometimes even snuggle under the covers. Buddy would do well in a home where he can spend time with his people and receive the love and attention he craves throughout the day.

As friendly as he is, Buddy is still learning how to communicate his boundaries. He has improved to the point that his foster mom doesn’t have to worry about upsetting him anymore but it may take him a minute to warm up to a new person. He may swat if overstimulated and for this reason he might not be the best fit for a home with children. He can also be jumpy around loud noises like traffic, vacuums, hair dryers, etc. so he would do well in a quieter space where he can really let his true cuddly self shine.

Buddy is definitely an explorer and would love if his forever home had a cat tree, window space, and plenty of time to play with his favourite wand toy. Because he is so curious, his new owners will have to watch the door when they come and go as Buddy is often eager to see what’s outside!

It is unknown how Buddy would behave in a home with other animals, so a single-pet household would likely be the best option for now.

If you're looking for a gorgeous boy to shower in love and affection, Buddy could be the cat for you!
