?BEAR / 10 yrs / Male / Yellow Labrador Retriever and Golden Retriever mix? / 60 lbs (27 kgs) / Currently fostered in Roseneath, ON
Major medical concerns: gastric ulcer - he thrives best in a calm, low-stress environment Meet Bear, a wise and wonderful 10-year-old Yellow Labrador Retriever and Golden Retriever mix from Roseneath, ON, whose golden spirit is as warm and comforting as a sunny afternoon nap. Weighing in at about 60 pounds, Bear is the kind of dog who’s mastered the art of living gently—he’s quiet, clever, and always ready for a peaceful stroll or a cozy cuddle with his favorite toy.
Bear’s gentle nature and calm demeanor are perfect companions for someone who appreciates life’s quieter moments. He’s house and crate trained, walks like a dream on leash, and responds beautifully to positive reinforcement. With excellent recall and zero interest in resource guarding, Bear is the kind of trustworthy buddy you’ll never have to second-guess.
Bear does have a gastric ulcer, so he thrives best in a calm, low-stress environment. His ideal day? A relaxing walk in nature, a bit of playtime with his favorite toy, a tasty meal followed by classical or country tunes (his two favorite genres), and a long, satisfying nap in a comfy bed. He enjoys meeting other dogs on walks but would prefer to be the only dog in the home so he can fully enjoy his golden years in peace.
While he’s friendly with people one-on-one, Bear is not one for crowds or hustle and bustle. He’s hoping to find a home with a dog-experienced, gentle-hearted person who can offer clear rules, consistency, and lots of outdoor adventures. A rural or suburban setting with green space and a fully fenced yard would be his paradise.
Bear doesn’t need chaos—just someone who values calm companionship, loves outdoor time, and believes that joy can come from the simple things: a quiet walk, a kind word, and a soft place to rest.
Could your peaceful home be the one where Bear can continue to shine?
Neutered / Microchipped / Vaccinations up to date
