My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

***The first step in the adoption process is to complete the application at www.emmetcountyanimalshelter.org***

Hello there! I’m Aria, and I’m learning to live the luxury life—well, in my imagination for now!

At 3 years of age, I haven’t always known kindness and my past wasn’t filled with the nicest people… but everything changed when a wonderful human picked me up and showed me love for the first time. That’s when I knew my life was about to get so much better—and it has.

I may be blind and deaf, but I experience the world in my own beautiful way. My nose is my guide, and I love lifting it high to smell all the scents the wind brings. I always know when you’re near, and that’s when my tail can’t stop wagging!

I enjoy gentle pets, tasty treats, soft grass, and the feeling of the breeze on my fur. I explore life with joy and heart, and even though I’ve been through a lot, I remain full of love and hope.

I do well with other dogs and having a kind confident dog to be my buddy and help me navigate my world would be ideal but I’d also thrive as your one-and-only as long as you could help me adjust to my environment. Just being near someone kind is enough for me.

A few things to know: I enjoy using my voice when I'm super happy and excited (even if I can’t hear it), so I’d do best in a house rather than an apartment. And because I don’t walk well on a leash—I prefer to sniff and wander on my own terms—a fenced-in yard would be ideal.

I know it sounds like I need a “perfect” setup, but I promise, I’m worth it. Give me love, safety, and patience—and I’ll give you all the heart in the world.  If you come and meet me, I know you will LOVE ME! I've recently been spayed, vaccinated and microchipped so that I'm all ready to go home with just the right people.  My adoption fee is $275.00 and I'm worth every penny!

Go meet their pets

Check out all of our pets online at www.emmetcountyanimalshelter.org or send in an application to meet a specific pet! Once our shelter is open for operation stop in during our open hours to visit with a fuzzy friend in person.

More about this shelter

The ECAS is an all volunteer, no kill shelter. Our mission is to rescue, rehabilitate and rehome pets in need due to neglect, abandonment, abuse or from simply not being wanted! We started in 2010 due to a need in our community. We are currently a foster based organization and we are currently building our new shelter facility. We work hand in hand with other rescue and shelters in the area to help out when and where we are needed.
