My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

DOB 11/8/24
Bennie is a sweet kitten who has already had a rough beginning. She was rescued from a cat colony with an upper respiratory infection, which left her with a head tilt due a tear in her eardrum. She's been able to adjust and doesn't have any other complications- she will run and play and cuddle and goof around. Celeste has been her companion while she's worked to get healthy and ready for adoption, and she doesn't know what to do without her.

Bennie has inquisitive eyes and loves sniffing things to make sure they're safe. She likes a little space to figure out her surroundings and is leery of getting scooped up for vet visits and medicine. She loves wand toys, Churu snacks, and catching naps in sunbeams. She lets Celeste take the lead on being adventurous. Bennie is looking forward to having a new family and space to explore!

PLEASE READ:
Adoption fee $100 for adult (over 12 months old) and $125 for kitten (under 12 months old). All cats coming into your care will be delivered altered (spayed/neutered), tested for FIV/FELV, microchipped, have received age-appropriate vaccines, treated for fleas and worms. We are not first come, first serve. We try to match our kitties with the purrfect home.
Silverton Cat Rescue is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. We are an all-volunteer organization. All our kitties are in foster care. We ask that you be patient with us as we connect you to the foster to set up a meet and greet.
Most of our kittens are placed in bonded pairs. One of the most important ways we can support the behavioral and emotional development of a kitten is to make sure they’ve got a friend. Despite the common belief that cats are solitary animals, they’re actually incredibly social beings who thrive when they have feline friends from an early age. That’s why the cat experts always recommend adopting two kittens, or adopting a solo kitten only if you already have another young cat in the home for the kitten to befriend. It may come as a surprise to hear this, but two kittens are actually half the work of one! Giving your kitten a buddy will improve the lives of the cats while also making your life easier.
In order to make sure cats under our care go to the safest and most compatible homes we require adoptees to fill out our Rescue’s application and accept a home visit. Please fill out an application: https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/SIL/Cat or email us at silvertonrescue@gmail.com for more information.
