My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

File #24-158Current Foster Location: Gananoque, ON *Please note that we do not typically adopt outside of a 2 hour radius from the foster dogs current location* Hi there! Im Adira! Not to brag, but my name means strong and nobleand Ive totally earned it. Im not your average pup. Im dorky. Im smart. Im guaranteed to make you laugh at least three times a dayfour if you wear socks I can chase. The Essentials: Fully housetrained and crate trained. I love kids, though I do get a bit bouncy with excitementso supervision and guidance help me be my best self. Friendly with dogsI get excited and bark if another dog barks, but Im working hard on staying calm before greetings. I would thrive with a doggy sibling who can kindly tell me when Im being a lot, OR as the only dog with experienced large-breed humans who know how to hold the line with love. I'm curious about the catIll chase sometimes, but its more playful than predatory. Smart, loyal, playful, occasionally sassy (especially if you try to take away a toe or interrupt my social calendar). I love training (Ill do basically anything for food), and I need a family committed to helping me practice calm behaviour with positive reinforcement. I enjoy mental challenges and learning new things (like conquering my fear of watergo me!). Important PSA: I like to taste-test things that arent technically edible (RIP Nerf bullets and LEGO). Im not destructive with furniture, but I will need supervision indoors and out. My Signature Look: One of my eyes is a little underdevelopedit makes me extra special. The rescue will recheck it during my spay, along with a small umbilical hernia thatll be fixed up too. I have patented the Adira Dance (for food), and I usually sleep upside down with my legs in the air like I just dont care. Im a one-of-a-kind little weirdo with a heart of gold and toes to chase. If youve got patience, snacks, and room for a loveable goofballIm ready to be your ride-or-die.
