Jake is a sweet and friendly boy who came to us from the county shelter as a stray and is now ready to find a loving family.
Jake is good with small dogs, but his interactions with kids and cats are unknown. He is house trained on a schedule, though he may occasionally try to mark, so a belly band is helpful. He is also leash trained. Jake is a mellow guy who loves to play with his favorite toy. He will come to you for pets and love, enjoys laying in the sun, and loves car rides.
When Jake arrived, he was in very bad shape with terrible teeth (he has only two left) and terrible skin. After testing, we discovered he has hyperthyroidism. We have found the right dose of medication, and he’s on the road to recovery, feeling like a new dog!
Jake would thrive in a home with someone who is home more often than not and is looking for an easy-going companion dog to keep them company.
