My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Effervescent, curious, spunky... the words that describe Pumpkin but initially she is very scared and skittish around new people and new situations. She will need another very outgoing and playful dog in the home to run around and play with which will help her become more adjusted. Before we got her, Pumpkin had lived most of her life in a kennel and before that we suspect she and her siblings had little socialization with people, so it takes her a bit of time and trust to open up to humans. She had a hard time finding a place to call home because she's apprehensive to new people, but she has been flourishing in her foster home for many months now. Pumpkin is a star with other dogs! She knows how to greet, communicate, and play with them all! A quick learner and eager to please, this girl picks up commands quickly. Crate trained, potty trained, eats with other dogs with no food aggression. She is too energetic to be crated for more than a few hours a day so she needs to have someone home some of the workday so she can go outside and play.
Regarding the outside, she needs a secure 6 ft privacy fenced yard (prefer fairly large yard) because she can scale a 5 ft privacy fence. She is an investment given how scared she is initially of new people so a quiet home without young children running around is needed. If you have had experience with very scared and shy dogs and have another young, energetic and playful dog and a securely fenced yard (6 ft privacy), Sweet Pumpkin may be a good fit for you.
