Introducing Ginger Spicy!

At just 5 pounds and 6 years old, Ginger is a quiet and kind-hearted Terrier mix who’s still adjusting to a new chapter in life. Her world was recently turned upside down when her devoted owner in Bakersfield was forced to move and couldn’t find housing that would accept all five of his beloved dogs. With a heavy heart, he surrendered them, and Ginger arrived at our rescue with two of her lifelong canine companions, clearly having come from a home full of love.

Since arriving at Shelter Hope, Ginger has had surgery to remove a fatty cyst from her chest and received a dental. She’s healing well and beginning to settle into her new surroundings. Though everything is unfamiliar, she navigates it all with quiet curiosity and care.

She’s calm and well-mannered around other dogs and feels most at ease in a peaceful, loving environment. Soft blankets, warm laps, and gentle affection are her favorite comforts. She's cuddly, soulful, and incredibly sweet.
