My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Scout — a 3-year-old, 48-pound bundle of love who’s ready to be your new best friend. Scout is friendly with everyone he meets and does well with kids, though older children are best since he can still be a little mouthy when excited. What Scout really wants is to be part of a family where he’s allowed to cuddle on the couch or snuggle up in bed — he thrives on being close to his people.

He enjoys playing with other dogs, is respectful of cats, and would also be content as the only pet as long as he gets plenty of human attention. Scout is crate trained and will go in willingly at mealtimes, but he may bark or whine if he’s crated while people are home. He’s smart, affectionate, and full of potential. Scout is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines — all that’s missing is you.

More about this rescue

Eleventh Hour Rescue, based in Morris County NJ, is a primarily volunteer run, no-kill rescue that saves animals on Death Row from high-kill shelters. Eleventh Hour Rescue dogs and cats are cared for by our compassionate and dedicated team of volunteers and staff. Whether in foster homes, our kennel or adoption centers, each dog and cat receives a clean and safe living environment, fresh food and water, medical attention, and most importantly an abundance of love and care until they find their FURever homes. We are dedicated to educating the community about the animal over-population problem and the importance of spaying and neutering. All funds go directly to supporting our animals and their needs. We are an eligible charity under federal code 501(c)3 founded in 2004.
