My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

How this pet arrived:
Jax was brought in by his previous owner on June 24, 2025.

Why this pet is the one for you:
Jax is a social and friendly kitty who enjoys the simple pleasures of life - birdwatching (indoors, of course), cozy blanket nests, gentle attention (when he feels like it) and Temptations treats. He's an excellent communicator and will let you know when he's feeling overstimulated through his body language, so he is looking for adopters who can learn his signals and respect his boundaries. Once he's comfortable, you'll see his social side as he greets everyone who comes in the door and bats his toys around like he owns the place! His ideal home would be one with family members who are 12 or older and a calm, quiet space for him to settle in. Jax is full of character and will reward your patience as he decompresses with moments of quirky charm and loyal presence. Contact us to learn more about him today!

At SDHS:
Jax has been vaccinated, microchipped and neutered. He is now ready for his new home!

Overstimulated Cat:  Jax requires a virtual behavior consult, please watch THIS video to learn more about them.

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
