Here's what the humans have to say about me:
DOB: April 13, 2024
Aida is being fostered at one of Toronto Cat Rescue’s pet store partner locations. Please note that if you’re approved to adopt, you’ll need to pick them up from the store within 24 hours of being approved.
Hello, I’m Aida – named after Giuseppe Verdi’s famous opera, and like the character, I carry grace, strength, and quiet beauty.
I don’t remember much about my life before kind humans found me. I was heavily pregnant, just moments away from giving birth. I was scared, tired, and alone—but the people who found me showed me compassion, and that changed everything. Just a couple of days after I had my two precious kittens—Verdi and Gilda—I was brought into my foster mom’s home. I didn’t know what to expect, and I was anxious at first. But slowly, gently, I began to understand that I was safe.
My foster mom says I’ve been an exceptional mother. I nursed my babies, kept them warm, and poured every bit of love I had into them. Now that they’re growing up strong and healthy, it’s my turn to find a forever home of my own.
I’m a calm, affectionate girl with a soft heart and a gentle soul. I love to cuddle, and I’ll happily curl up on your lap for hours if you let me. My foster mom says I have the softest, sweetest touch—when I reach out to her with my paw, she can feel the love in it. I’m very smart and very careful—I never scratch, and you won’t even need to trim my nails.
People say I’m beautiful—my eyes are a deep, striking green, like emeralds.
My foster mom says she’s never seen a cat quite like me—that I have the beauty of the mind, the heart, and the face. I learn quickly, I’m clean and perfectly behaved with the litter box, and I’m not picky about food. I’ll eat whatever you offer with quiet gratitude.
I don’t need much. I’m a low-maintenance cat with a lot of love to give. I think I would do best in a calm, peaceful home—maybe with a kind professional, a senior, or a thoughtful family with older kids who understand how to be gentle. I don’t ask for much—just a warm place to rest, a little love, and someone who will see the quiet light I carry.
My foster mom says it will be very hard to let me go because I am an exceptionally loving cat, and she believes I could be wonderful emotional support for someone who needs it. She knows how special I am. But she also understands I need to find forever love—truly forever this time. A home where I will be cherished and never thrown out onto the streets again.
Maybe that home is with you?
