Winston is a 5-year-old, 7-pound Chihuahua who has already lived through more than most dogs ever should. He came from a hoarding situation in Texas, and rescue arrived just in time — the trailer he lived in had caught fire. Despite everything he’s been through, Winston is still trying his best to trust and love. This little guy is a survivor.
Winston is looking for a special adopter — someone patient, kind, and steady. He needs a calm, structured home with a confident dog who can show him how to feel safe. He also needs someone with small-dog or Chihuahua experience who understands that healing takes time.

🐾 He is very vocal and will bark when separated — no apartments or shared walls
🐾 He isn’t comfortable being picked up yet (but he wants to be near you)
🐾 He’s being fostered by a dog trainer and is making progress
🐾 Cars are okay
🐾 Not used to a leash yet
🐾 A very secure, fenced yard is required — he is fast and hard to catch
🐾 Great with other dogs — he needs another dog in the home
🐾 No young kids
🐾 Cats unknown
Winston is not a “ready-made” cuddle dog — he’s a heart project.
But the love you’ll earn from him will be the quiet, deep kind that changes you.
With patience, consistency, and gentle reassurance, Winston will learn that hands can be safe, homes can be quiet, and people can be good.

Our hope is that a love match is made. If all parties are in agreement, you may adopt at this first meeting. Some dogs may require xt meets
