Hi there! I’m Darby — your future best friend and professional snuggle buddy! 🐾
I’m a mix of Labrador Retriever and Australian Cattle Dog, which means I’ve got a big heart, a loyal spirit, and a thoughtful, sensitive soul. I may not be the first to run up and say hi, but give me a little time and patience, and you’ll see — I’m full of love just waiting for the right person to share it with.
I’ve mastered the basics like house training and I’m great on a leash now — walks are one of my favorite ways to spend time with my people! I get along well with other dogs, especially with slow, gentle introductions that help me feel safe. I currently live with two dog siblings who look a bit like me, and we love to cuddle up on the couch or romp around the yard together.
While I’m not a big fan of being in the kennel (I’d much rather be curled up on the couch, your bed, or wherever my humans and dog friends are!), I’m well-behaved and respectful around the house. I’m also a polite guest — just give me a comfy spot and a chew bone, and I’m a happy girl.
Men can make me a little nervous at first, but I’m trying hard to be brave. With kindness, calm energy, and a little time, I warm up and become a deeply loyal and loving companion. I’m not just looking for any home — I’m hoping for one where I can truly feel safe and part of the family.
My foster mom says I’m a sweet, smart, and thoughtful girl who’s always trying her best. If you’re looking for a gentle soul with a big heart and the loyalty of a Lab mixed with the devotion and intelligence of a Cattle Dog — I just might be your perfect match. ------------- All our Warrior Dogs will have all age appropriate medical care and vaccines, a microchip, and spayed/neutered if the dog is over 6 months of age at the time of adoption.
Please note that the majority of our dogs in rescue are from shelters where they have been found as strays or abandoned. Their breed description is based on our very best educated guess based on physical characteristics and their dispositions. If they came to our rescue as an owner surrender, the breed description will be listed as provided by the previous owner.

The mission of Warrior Dog Rescue is to save the dogs that are homeless, left abandoned in shelters, are surrendered by their owners, those that are being abused and neglected, and those that are left wandering. We are committed to providing them the medical care they need, helping them to overcome their past by providing them loving, educated foster homes, finding them their perfect forever home by means of a thorough adoption process, and guiding them on their journey into their new life. They all deserve a “good dog life… every single one of them.”
Warrior Dog Rescue will be a model rescue by partnering with overcrowded shelters that need to make room for more abandoned dogs. We will continue to educate others about responsible dog ownership in regards to safety, spay/neuter, nutrition, obedience, socializing, abuse, and neglect. We acknowledge that we will have a role in this industry to take the lead on providing awareness to others in the community and across the country. Every dog will know what it feels like to be loved till the end of their life.
