If you see pets listed by a private owner, it means that they’re adoptable through Adopt a Pet’s Rehome program – the safe and reliable way to find a loving new home for your pet.
We adopted Maple, a Chow Chow mix, from the League City Animal Shelter in February. She is the sweetest girl you could ask for. She likes being near her people, is good with kids, and gets along well with other dogs.
While she brings so much joy to us, we have found she experiences separation anxiety and can be anxious around loud noises. We dedicated a lot of time and effort to helping her, trying various approaches, but we have come to understand that she would flourish in a home where someone is frequently present and understands how to patiently manage these anxieties.
With a calm, consistent home and plenty of companionship, Maple will be a loving friend.
