My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

How this pet arrived:
This pet was brought in by our Humane Law Enforcement team.

Why this pet is the one for you:
Hi ya'all! My name is Jumbo and I am searching for my forever home! I have been in my wonderful Foster Home for over 5 months and would love to meet my forever family.
Could that be you? My Foster Mom keeps telling me to be patient because she promises me that they are out there somewhere looking for a good boy like me!
I AM a very good boy! I love to run and do zoomies in my giant yard. I also enjoy chasing squirrels and lizards! Not sure what I'd do if I caught them but the chase sure is fun!
I am calm in the house and also like to chill with my hoomans, either in the house or in the yard.
My Foster Mom thinks I'd be okay with other dogs when properly introduced. I do have a foster sister that I have lived with for a long time. She's more like my real sister as we lived together before being in Foster care. Oh, her name is Natasha! Anyway, about me, of course. My Foster Mom doesn't know if I've been around cats or kids. I'm a Heeler mix and am bred to herd. So kids older than 10 who can respect that trait would be fine.
My Foster Mom is currently working with me on leash training and she says I'm doing good but suggests further training.
I do stress out a little in a vehicle and don't like being in a crate. So going for quick short trips would help.
I am a good boy in the house and don't have accidents as long as someone lets me out when I need to go. I take several naps during the day but sleep really good on my own bed at night.
I am also good about detecting snakes! I will stand way back and bark and look at the house until my Foster Dad comes out and catches it. I know better than to mess with them!! My sister Natasha does the same thing with me! We're hero's in our Foster Home! Please consider adding me to your family. I'd really like to find my forever home! Could that be you?
Thank you,
Jumbo

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
