My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Tulip – A Quiet Beauty Ready to Bloom 🌷

Tulip is a stunning, independent girl who is learning the comforts of indoor life one day at a time. Though people can still be a little scary, she’s beginning to enjoy gentle affection and will even seek out a scratch or two when she’s feeling safe.

She has a calm, observant nature and prefers to take her time getting to know new surroundings. Tulip coexists peacefully with dogs and isn’t afraid to set polite boundaries when needed. She would thrive in a patient, low-key home where she can adjust at her own pace and continue to grow in confidence.

Tulip is being fostered in Madison, AL and will be spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped prior to adoption.

If you're looking for a quiet, low-maintenance companion and have a heart for giving a shy cat the time she needs to trust, Tulip may be your perfect match.

Go meet their pets

Our adoptable animals are fostered in loving homes throughout Huntsville, Alabama and the surrounding area. Because we do not operate a physical shelter, meet-and-greets are arranged by appointment only—typically after an adoption application has been submitted and approved.

For out-of-town adopters, we’re happy to offer virtual meet-and-greets to help you get to know your future furry family member before adoption or transport.

More about this rescue

Friends of Rescue is headquartered in Huntsville, Alabama with transport locations throughout the Great Lakes and New England. FOR is a volunteer-run, 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded in 2009.

Our mission is to save adoptable dogs and cats from overcrowded Southern shelters where limited space, minimal funding, and high intake rates often lead to euthanasia.

We are not professional trainers or animal behaviorists—just dedicated individuals working together to give these animals a second chance. Every pet in our program lives in a loving foster home and receives age-appropriate veterinary care while awaiting adoption.

Our ultimate goal is to match each animal with a committed, compassionate individual or family who will provide a FORever home.
