Here's what the humans have to say about me:
LOCATED IN CAMBRIDGE ON
DOB 5 June 2022
Microchipped
Meet Elsie, an independent cat who knows what she wants in life.
Elsie came to TCR as a pregnant barn cat. She and her roommate Penelope raised nine kittens between them. The kittens are grown, so now it’s time for Elsie to shine.
Elsie’s early life as a barn cat was tough: never enough to eat, popping out kittens, sweltering in summer and shivering in winter. The humans in her life were distant and kinda scary. Now that Elsie is in foster care, she’s enjoying pet-life: food, lots of food, sofas, air-conditioning. Humans — meh. She’s accepted that her foster-carer lives in the same house, but as yet does not want to be friends. She will hang out in the same room as you, but reach towards her and she dashes off. She’s wary, rather than scared - she’ll flounce away, then look back, as if to say, “Nyah nyah, can’t touch me!”
Elsie gets along with the resident cats, but isn’t really interested in them. She has no fear of the resident dog. Elsie likes her own company. She lollops around the house, plays, lounges on the sofa. Life is good.
Elsie eats well and always uses her litter box. She’s quiet at night. She has never swatted or tried to bite.
Shy cats aren’t everyone’s cup of tea, and Elsie will need a patient adopter who doesn’t take her drama personally. She’s an independent spirit who wants to do her own thing.
