She takes time to warm up, but with patience and treats, she is a lot of fun.
Risk was/is a shy girl that has really warmed up to be held. She's super sweet.
Estimated birth date: 5/20/24
Personality: Curious, Friendly toward humans, Hesitant, Nervous, Quiet, Sweet, Very shy (you are unable to touch this animal without it running away or being fearful, etc)
Favorite treats: Bananas and eggs
Current Diet: Oxbow Essentials Adult Rat Food
Favorite toys and activities: When you hold her, she's still a little nervous, so she tries to hide in your clothes.
Potty trained: Litter box trained
This animal’s daily routine: Playtime in the evening
BFF (Does this animal have or need a friend of the same species in their home?): Battleship, Risk, and Catan are a bonded trio and must be adopted together.
Other species this pet has been exposed to and reaction: Dog - runs away/hides
Has this animal been exposed to children? What was their reaction? Older children. Let's them hold her.
Health concerns: None
Medical note: Battleship, Risk, and Catan are spayed/neutered.
Behavioral concerns: We're working on getting her used to being handled and associating the cage door opening with gentle touch and treats. She is slowly popping her head out and letting us pet her. We even had her relax in our arms and boggle.
AS OF 10/22/25, Risk has graduated from the trust training program!

Due to our rescue being foster-based, not all foster homes are located in Saint Paul, MN. This animal's foster parent prefers to meet at the PetSmart, 299 12th St SW, Forest Lake, MN 55025 for meet & greets, & adoptions.
Fee: Battleship, Risk & Catan have a combined adoption fee of $350

MN Pocket Pet Rescue is a 501(c)(3) organization primarily serving the Twin Cities Metro Area, focusing on education and public outreach. Our intent is to keep all animals in their homes, with their families, whenever possible. We are committed to rescuing those pocket pets that are in jeopardy of being euthanized or are in danger of being abused, left unattended or in other types of vulnerable situations. We ensure all animals receive proper veterinary care, medication and special training for any behavioral issues, as well as to arrange safe, temporary homes for these animals until stable forever homes can be found. Our team is made up of enthusiastic volunteers who work passionately to serve the underrepresented and often misunderstood niche of pocket pets in the overall rescue community and general public.
