My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Comet: Your Playful Shooting Star!
Comet zoomed into our lives unexpectedly, just like her celestial namesake! This gorgeous young girl was discovered by a kind soul who showed her that humans can be trusted. And while she's thriving in foster care, she deserves a home all her own.
Playtime is Comet's passion! She'll chase strings with unbridled enthusiasm and stalk crinkle toys with the precision of a tiny huntress. And her scratching post? That's her best friend - she'll wrap her paws around it in a loving hug while sharpening those adorable claws. But don't let her playful energy fool you - this girl is also a champion napper who has perfected the art of finding the coziest spots in the house.

What makes Comet truly special is her sweet, affectionate nature. She has this look she gives when she loves you - a gaze so pure and full of trust that it melts even the toughest hearts. It's her unique way of saying "I choose you" without making a sound.

Comet is currently adjusting to life with her foster sisters, making new friends at her own pace. She would also continue to thrive in a home as an only kitty, with a special person or family that can play and nap with her.

Are you looking for a playful companion who also appreciates quiet cuddle time? Comet might be the shooting star you've been wishing for! Hurry and apply today to meet our little star, Comet!

More about this rescue

Animal Justice League (AJL) is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt dog and cat rescue organization with a focus on the Oak Forest and Garden Oaks neighborhoods of Houston, TX. AJL was formed on January 27, 2015, but really, the work began long before then!

In a neighborhood that often serves as a dumping ground for unwanted animals, in a city that is overridden with homeless pets, and shelters that are at capacity, we saw a need and knew it was time to make a difference.

We rescue dogs off of the brutal streets of Houston, help care for those that are no longer wanted or cared for by their previous owners, and are registered to pull dogs and cats from the city, county, and nearby shelters. We also help reduce the community cat and kitten population through a robust TNR (trap, neuter, return) program.

Our mission is to reduce the homeless pet population through rescue, education, and outreach. Help us make our mission a reality!
