My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

Haiiro arrived at the Animal Rescue Network in March 2025 after being found outside in Laval. He had an enormous face and a big wound on the side of his head. A lot of cats outside were fighting with him and poor Haiiro was meowing at someone's window for a few months in order to find shelter. A kind person decided to find a shelter for him since they were allergic to cats and couldn't keep him themselves. He was timid but affectionate. He deserved a chance. After his quarantine at the shelter, we detected that Haiiro had feline leukemia (FeLV). For more information about FeLV: Feline Leukemia Virus | Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine   He was put in a foster family in order to not spread his virus at the shelter. Personality wise, he is the perfect cat! He is very calm and likes to entertain himself, but he is always up for playing with his human, which he prefers. He has his moments of independence but prefers the company of his human, whom he likes to follow around or simply lounge close to. He is always ready for cuddles. He likes to wake his human up. If his human takes too long to get up, he insists by bringing him a toy. Once his human is finally up, he shows his joy by running around. He is very gentle and delicate. Although he plays a lot with his toys, they are hardly damaged at all. Unconcerned about his illness, Haiiro is always in a good mood. He is a happy little guy. As a bonus, Haiiro doesn't shed... well, hardly at all. He's so loving, it's hard not to fall in love with him! Haiiro s an adult cat and he carries FeLV so the adoption fees for him are $100. He is sterilized, vaccinated and microchipped. He is negativefor the feline immunodeficiency virus (FIV) but positive for the feline leukaemia virus (FeLV). Health insurances are offered for the first 6 weeks following adoption. You will also have access to the support of the adoption team for as long as you need it. You will also have access to a free 30 minutes video consultation within thr first month following adoption with our cat behaviour consultant FelineGood ( https://www.felinegood.ca ).

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

All new adoption homes are carefully screened to determine if they are suitable. There is an adoption fee that includes the sterilization, initial vaccination of every animal, testing for FIV and FeLV of all cats at the shelter, and a 21 days trial period. A contract is always signed between the ARN and the adopter for their protection. A follow-up by an ARN adoption coordinator is often done either by telephone or by visit, and we also offer help/cousel for the life of the cat.
