My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Finn

Breed: Weimaraner Terrier mix
Date of Birth: May 23, 2025
Gender: Male
Expected Weight: 50 pounds

Breed Information

The Weimaraner is a large, athletic sporting breed originally from Germany, known for its sleek silver-gray coat and striking pale eyes. Highly energetic and intelligent, Weimaraner's need plenty of daily exercise and mental stimulation, making them best suited for active families with time to devote to training and play. Often called "velcro dogs," they form strong bonds with their humans and may develop separation anxiety if left alone too often. Friendly and loyal, they typically do well with children and other dogs but may chase smaller animals due to a strong prey drive. Their short coat requires minimal grooming, though they need regular brushing and ear cleaning. Health concerns include hip dysplasia, bloat, and some eye conditions. With proper care, training, and companionship, Weimaraner's make devoted and energetic family pets.

Owner's Responsibilities

  1. Exercise:

    • Ensure Felix gets plenty of daily physical activity through walks, runs, and interactive games. His high energy levels require regular movement to keep him healthy and happy.

  2. Training:

    • Enroll Felix in obedience classes to develop his social skills and command understanding. His intelligence and eagerness to learn make training sessions enjoyable and rewarding.

  3. Grooming:

    • Regular grooming is important to maintain Felix’s coat health. Brushing once or twice a week will manage shedding and keep his coat looking its best.

  4. Health Care:

    • Keep up with routine veterinary visits and vaccinations. A balanced diet tailored to his size and energy level will support his overall health.

  5. Affection and Socialization:

    • Provide Felix with plenty of love and opportunities to socialize with other dogs and people. This will help him grow into a confident and well-adjusted adult dog.

More about this rescue

We are dedicated to saving dogs from high kill shelters, strays, owner surrenders and hoarders. We have been saving animals since December 2016. We hold weekly adoption events at various pet stores and pet expos. We hire dog walkers to walk our dogs and we have volunteers who help us weekly. Many of our dogs go to boarding and training to become adoptable and work on their behavioral issues. All our dogs are assessed to find a great family match.

All dogs receive all necessary medical attention and all dogs are vetted.
