Albie is a very soulful, sweet and loving, five-year-old, 25-pound, male tri-color Beagle looking for a loving guardian.

Albie was rescued from an animal testing lab at Johns Hopkins University. Because he grew up in a small cage for the first year of his life, he lacked the socialization that most dogs get in the real world.

Albie is not socialized with other dogs, and he’s not good with children.

Albie’s favorite activity in life is snuggling with his humans. He was a beloved member of a family when his folks got married. The trouble came when they had a baby. Albie has bitten and lunged at their child, so he needs to find a loving home without children.

Albie is great on walks, great in the car, is perfectly housebroken, crate-trained and loves to sleep in bed with his family.

He is well-trained and knows the commands sit, down, dance, roll-over and importantly drop it, as he can be a resource guarder. At home, when his folks sing him a bedtime story, he walks right into his crate. Sometimes to entertain him, his people hide treats around the yard so he can find them. He also loves food puzzles and enjoys eating his meals from them.

Albie is not high energy. He’ll go for a hike if you’d like him to, but he’s also happy to walk around the block and hang out and watch tv. He is fine in elevators but might be nervous if another dog gets in an elevator with him.

He is very healthy, neutered, up-to-date on vaccines, heartworm tested and on prevention, and microchipped. His adoption fee of $300 benefits the rescued pets of Famous Fido. Because he's a home-to-home adoption, Albie comes with absolutely everything you need to care for him!
