Here's what the humans have to say about me:
My name is Mae and I’m looking for my forever home! I’m an easy-going, cautious 4 y.o. girl who weighs 30 lbs. I came to my foster home in New Berlin, WI, from the commercial breeding facility where it was my job to make puppies. But that life is behind me now and I’m learning to love living in a home with humans. YOU GUYS, THEY GIVE ME CHICKEN!!! I love chicken! My foster home has other dogs, a cat, and a small human and I have done well with all of them. I enjoy having other dogs around and I don’t try to chase the cat (though sometimes he waits until I’m in my kennel to venture too close). I’m a good girl in the house – fully potty trained. And I’m a champion leash-walker! Foster mom says I’m a dream to walk with – aw, shucks! Foster mom is pretty cool too! I’m learning to trust and enjoy human attention, like head scratches. AND CHICKEN!! But sudden movements and loud noises can still spook me. Like the 17-month-old human I met who tried to chase me! Yikes! My perfect forever home will love walks (AND CHICKEN!). They’ll need to be very careful when opening doors so I don’t take myself on a walk (Shibas can be escape artists). I’d enjoy having another dog to hang out with, but foster mom thinks I’d be fine as an only dog, as long as my humans have time to spend with me. I’m a healthy girl, spayed and vaccinated. If you live in the Midwest and have room in your heart and your home for a laid-back walking buddy like me, visit www.savingshibas.com/adopt to apply to become an approved SIRA adopter. The application process helps SIRA make sure we’ll be a good match. Once approved, SIRA will introduce you to my foster mom, so we can meet!
