Hello, friends. My name is Nova.

I’m a 3½-year-old German Shepherd Dog—spayed, up to date on my vaccines, and yes, I’m heartworm positive. But don’t worry: my treatment is fully covered with my $100 adoption fee. What I really need is a loving home and someone willing to walk this journey with me.

I’ve been what the shelter calls a “frequent flyer.” I’ve been impounded several times over the years, and each time my family came back for me—until now.

I was originally my parents’ dog. When they passed away, I became incredibly sentimental to their children, a brother and sister who shared ownership of me. They truly tried everything to keep me. But life changed. Circumstances shifted. And recently, they made the heartbreaking decision to surrender me to the shelter—not because they didn’t love me, but because they wanted me to have a chance at stability and a future they could no longer provide.

This transition hasn’t been easy for me. I’ve lost the only family I’ve ever known, and I’m trying to understand what comes next. I’m loyal, intelligent, and deeply bonded to my people once I trust them. I just need someone willing to see past my past and focus on the dog I can be in the right home.
