Marzipan was tossed out onto the streets of Taft, California, along with her four puppies, abandoned by the only home she had ever known. Her former owner, returning to Mexico and fearful of ongoing ICE raids in the area, left the entire little family behind. Word reached our rescuers, and soon Marzipan and her babies were safe in a loving foster home in Tehachapi until we had room to bring them in. It truly took a village.
Marzipan is a 1 year old Yorkie Terrier mix. Only 14lbs.
Through it all, Marzipan has remained gentle, kind, and full of quiet grace. She's sweet, steady, and happiest when curled up in your lap or being gently held. Always submissive, she wags her tail constantly, eager to please and quick to offer trust. She's great with other dogs and adds a little light to every room she enters.
