Pumpkin is a 3 year old, 69 lb spayed female mixed breed who thinks she’s a lap dog—and honestly, she’s not wrong! This affectionate girl has energy to spare and love to give. She’s crate trained, house broken, and knows sit and fetch commands. Pumpkin adores her toys (although she prefers them shredded rather than pristine!) — but don’t worry, she’s never destructive in the home. Pumpkin would thrive with a fenced yard where she can perfect her zoomie technique. She previously lived with two smaller dogs who mostly ignored her, so she might enjoy a playful canine companion who matches her energy. Because of her enthusiasm and an incident with a toddler, she’d do best in a home with older children or adults only. AFHS is open 7 days a week, and adoptions are first come, first serve. We encourage you to visit the shelter to meet our pets.

Unless the animal is in a foster home, then you can visit with all of our adoptable pets anytime during operating hours, no appt. needed.

Cats - 5 months and over: $40.00
Kittens - 4 months and under: $50.00
Senior Cats - 7+ years: $10.00
Dogs – 5 months and over: $95

Each animal receives age appropriate vaccinations, spay/neuter, flea/tick prevention, microchip, county license & Heartworm prevention for dogs, trial bag of Hill's Science Diet food, and 30 days free pet insurance. Animal Friends Humane Society (AFHS) was established in 1952 and is the only open- admission shelter in Butler County, Ohio.
