A Letter from Hector
To My Future Family…
Hi, it’s me—Hector. You may not know me yet, but I’ve been waiting for you.
I’m 9 years old, around 70 lbs, and I’ve spent the last two years hoping someone like you would come along. I’ve had homes before… some good, some not so much. I’ve been returned, lost, and forgotten. Once, I even walked myself back to the shelter gates because, deep down, I knew I deserved better.
And I still believe I do.
I’m not asking for much—just a soft place to land and someone who means it when they say “forever.” I’m house-trained, crate-trained, and I know my commands. I also just got a great health report from the vet. Aside from a little arthritis, I'm healthy as a horse. Yeehaw!
I love snuggles, slow strolls, and feeling like I belong. I’m gentle with people and can live with older kids. I get along with some dog friends too—just no cats, please.
My caretaker says I’m loyal, low-key, and full of love. I just need a home where I can finally exhale and know I’m safe. Where I can lay my head down and not worry about being left again.
So if you're out there—my person, my family—please come find me. I've waited a long time, but I still believe you're coming.
Love, Hector
