Hi everyone! Charley here. I am a handsome and happy guy who is looking for my furever home. I came to a shelter because my mom died. Foster mom picked me up and brought me to her house. I hopped right in because I love to ride in the car. I like to put my nose out the window and sniff the air. I would really like to put my head out the window but foster mom won't let me.
When I arrived in my foster home, I did not like treats and was not food motivated. But that quickly changed. I love food now and am your typical beagle. I still do not like pup cups, though. Guess it's the whipped cream. Anyway, I have learned house manners like sit, stay, and wait. I am working on other commands and tricks. If foster mom has to run out, I stay in my crate and keep it clean. I very seldom have an accident in the house. I sleep on the chaise lounge or the floor at night but not the big bed. I didn't know about dog beds when I arrived here, but I have learned that I like them!
I love my walks and to sniff out the bunnies. We have a lot of those here. Foster mom does not have a fenced yard and it would be fun to have one but I do ok without it. I like socializing with the neighbor dogs and going to the dog park. I potty on leash and have learned to live with my foster brother. I wish he would play with me but he is an older guy who doesn't really play.
All the neighbors here comment how cute and friendly I am. You may have noticed that I only have one eye. I don't remember what happened to the other one but it doesn't slow me down. I can still find food, sniff out bunnies and do all beagle things with the best of them! Foster mom thinks I am a beagle/basset mix. I do the beagle hello when I see other dogs or get excited to go outside but generally, I am a quiet guy.
