My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Muwoo

Currently in foster care | Rescued from euthanasia list at a city shelter

Name: Muwoo

Age: 1 year

Gender: Neutered male

Breed: Jindo mix

Color: Brown & Beige

Weight: 11kg (~24lbs)

Height (at shoulder): 44cm

Personality & Socialization

Muwoo can be a little shy in new environments, but he opens up quickly with patience and kindness. When he first arrived at his foster home, he stayed in the kennel out of fear — but within 20 minutes, he came out on his own, rubbing up against his foster and asking for pets.

He may freeze in unfamiliar situations, but warms up fast, especially if treats are involved! Muwoo is gentle and affectionate, often offering his belly even to new people if he feels safe. He prefers slow introductions and gets spooked by sudden movements, but once he bonds, he’ll follow you around like a shadow and ask for love.

Dog Social Skills

Friendly and polite! Muwoo loves other dogs and enjoys greeting both familiar and new ones. He’s particularly sweet with larger dogs and knows how to give space when another dog doesn’t want to play. He doesn’t react to aggression and will usually just walk away.

Cats & Other Animals

He shows no interest in cats or birds on the street. Cat-testing can be arranged if needed.

Energy Level

Moderate. He enjoys outdoor activities but settles down calmly afterward. At home, his favorite pastime is gently chewing on soft toys.

Leash Manners

Muwoo walks well in quiet areas. He’s still getting used to busy streets, and may try to dart if startled — so caution is needed in those situations.

Other Notes

• Rarely barks, unless frightened by loud outside noises.

• Nervous about getting into cars — he needs to be carried for now.

• Fine being in a crate once inside, though he may whine if kept too long.

• Despite a rough start in life, Muwoo is incredibly adaptable and deeply affectionate with his person.

This sweet boy is looking for a patient, loving forever home where he can feel safe and loved. If you’re ready for a gentle companion who gives his whole heart once he trusts you — Muwoo is waiting.

More about this rescue

Adopt Korean Rescue is a volunteer-based federally registered not-for-profit organization dedicated to helping homeless and unwanted dogs in South Korea find a new home in Canada.

We love Korean dogs. Many of them live in chains, give birth on the side of the road, or wander around with their pups. Some of them get caught and end up at dog meat farms or high-kill shelters in South Korea. They luckily meet us just before euthanasia or after many years of living in dog meat farms. We exist to hold their paws and help them find a forever home in Canada full of joy and happiness.
