Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Elain, a resilient and affectionate young soul seeking a tranquil home to call her own. Despite a difficult beginning as a rescue from an abandonment situation, Elain has maintained a remarkably gentle spirit and a profound capacity for love. Having likely raised kittens of her own in the past, Elain is now ready to be the one who is cared for. While she may be professionally reserved upon your first introduction, she quickly warms up to reveal a playful, "belly-rub-loving" personality. Having previously co-existed with many feline companions, she possesses a social nature but truly shines when receiving one-on-one affection. Candidate Profile: Personality: Sweet, initially shy, and highly affectionate. Interests: Toy enrichment, belly rubs, and quality time with her humans. Life Skills: Expertly litter box trained and strictly an indoor companion. Health: Fully vetted and spayed, ensuring her days of worry are behind her. Elain has overcome her past with grace and is now looking for a partner to provide the stability she deserves. If you are looking for a loyal black cat to complete your family, please consider submitting an adoption application to meet this lovely girl.If you would be interested in giving me a furever home, please contact The Humane Society of Adams County, Inc. at (937) 544-8585 to set up a time to come meet me and fill out an adoption application!

Our adoption process is made up of two parts. Upon a decision to adopt an animal we require an application for adoption that asks questions such as housing and veterinary references. We then check references and may require a home visit. Upon approval you will fill out a contract for adoption and pay the adoption fees. Adoption fees are based on age and vetting required.
