Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Gem is approximately 1.5 years old and a typical young German Shepherd. She is highly food and toy motivated, eager to learn, has moderately high energy, and is highly human-social. With dogs she can be a bit pushy and overbearing. She lives with several now and does fine with those that are confident and can put her in her place but has a tendency to pick on softer dogs. She is crate and house-trained and has been curious about but gentle with house cats. Her recall has been proofed with an e collar and we have worked on threshold and impulse training but otherwise she is green.
Gem would be a dream for anyone experienced with shepherds and looking for an active companion and/ or a partner to dabble in fun sports with. I say that because she does have typical GSD quirks and tendencies that could throw an inexperienced handler off but if you know shepherds she is truly a nice, easy dog (I have two and they are much higher-maintenance than her). I would go so far as to say that even if you DON’T have shepherd experience but are a proficient handler/ trainer, she is a great entry level GSD- just shepherdy enough without making you cry yourself to sleep at night (iykyk).
She is chipped, spayed (was spayed in April), and UTD.
