Hi there, I’m Nilla! I may look almost black at first glance, but if you look closer, you’ll see I’m really a dark charcoal with subtle tabby stripes on my neck, belly, and back legs. I even have a little white patch under my chin and striking amber-green eyes. My foster says I look like a vanilla bean—so that’s how I got my name!
I’ve got a big personality for a little guy. Sometimes I’m the shy one, sometimes I’m the bold, inquisitive one—and often I’m just plain silly. My nickname is The Custodian because I am absolutely fascinated when the litter box is being scooped and insist on being the first one to test it out again.
My favorite hobbies? Playing kitty soccer, running through tunnels, and chasing anything with a jingle bell. I also make a great work buddy—I love sitting on the desk to watch the cursor dance across the screen, and sometimes I’ll gently rest my paws on your fingers while you type (don’t worry, I use paws, not claws!). And if you need a study break, I’m happy to hop in your lap for some pets to help lower your stress.
I get along well with other cats, especially my brother Navy, but I’m also independent and good at entertaining myself. I haven’t met kids or dogs yet, but with a little time to adjust, I think I could fit right into a loving home.
Could I be your playful, goofy, and loyal desk buddy?
My adoption fee of $50 includes up-to-date vaccinations, dewormer, and heartworm/flea prevention. Plus, a microchip that is already registered to you! What more could you ask for?
If you`d like to meet me, please fill out an application on our website, PawmettoLifeline.org. Adoptions are by appointment Tuesday through Thursday, Friday and Saturday are walk in from 10-5.
