Shrimp — a little gentleman with a big heart, weighing in at just 8 lbs. This 10-year-old Chihuahua–Maltese mix we think, is as sweet as they come. Shrimp is a gentle, happy boy who loves nothing more than being close to his person. He’ll happily follow you from room to room, just to make sure you don’t get lost without him.
Even though he doesn’t have any teeth, Shrimp is a true foodie at heart — mealtime is his favorite time! He’s crate trained and sleeps well, though sometimes he can’t quite make it through the night, so he wears a diaper just to be safe. House training is still a work in progress, but he’s learning.
If you’re looking for a loyal little shadow who will fill your days with love and quiet companionship, Shrimp is ready to wiggle right into your heart.

Adoption application required for dogs. However, because it stresses cats to be confined and transported with dogs long distances, we do not transport our cats. They are local to Texas only. Thank you.
Adoptions applications are checked by contacting references and veterinarians of those with pets to ensure our pups go to the best homes possible. We work hard to place dogs into the right families, but sometimes we realize the fit isn't quite working out for the adopter or the pet..
If an adoption does not work out and we have room to take the dog back into the rescue, we will. However, the sheer number of needy animals in TX usually means we become full quickly after the dog is adopted. So, in those cases we will post the animal locally, and help the adopter screen applicants and facilitate finding another adoptive home for the pet in your area.
