Here's what the humans have to say about me:
After a successful career as a top-tier mom, Godiva is officially hanging up her “mom hat” and ready to live the good life – naps, snacks, and snuggles included. Godiva is a young, playful beauty who loves to be petted and purrs like a little motorboat the moment you say hello. She's fantastic with other cats (total social butterfly) and is cautiously optimistic about dogs –tail-waggers can be okay too. While laps and cuddles were a mystery at first, Godiva is starting to warm up to the idea of being held and doted on – we think she’s secretly into it. She’s the kind of cat who’ll gently head-bonk you, chase a toy with kitten-like glee, and then nap in a sunny window like she’s living her best spa life.
Godiva is FIV+, but as long as she stays indoors and receives regular check-ups, she can still live a long and happy life. FIV is only transmitted between cats and usually through aggressive behavior - like biting. Check with your vet if you have any concerns about adding an FIV+ cat to your crew.
Now that her mom duties are done, Godiva is ready for a forever home where she can be loved for the sweet, silly, lovable cat she is. Adopt Godiva and give her the happy-ever-after she truly deserves – now it’s her turn to be the baby. 🐱💖
Adopters have 30 days of free access to 1-on-1 text and email support from behaviorists at Petcademy to help make every pet's transition into their new home as smooth as possible. All cats available for adoption have been spayed/neutered, microchipped and are current on all vaccinations. Please email cats@henricohumane.org for more information.

Potential adopters are carefully screened to ensure we find the right forever home for the dogs and cats we rescue. Since animals live in foster homes, we get to know their personality and temperament. The adoption process allows us to learn about you, so that we can help find the perfect match for your home.
ADOPTION PROCESS
After finding a cat or dog that you are interested in, you'll need to complete an adoption application either online (https://henricohumane.org) or at an adoption stand. An adoption coordinator will review your application to ensure your situation matches the needs of the animal you're interested in. If completing an application online, please note, every question must be answered on the application for it to be reviewed by an adoption coordinator. As part of the review process, we'll request references. Because we are an all-volunteer organization, it may take up to 48 hours for an adoption coordinator to contact you.
ADOPTION FEES:
All of our adoption fee amounts can be found here:
https://www.henricohumane.org/adopt
The adoption fee covers the cost of shots, spay/neuter, microchipping and worm/flea treatments.

More about this rescue
Henrico Humane Society is an all-volunteer, foster-based,
non-profit organization that rescues dogs and cats from
across Central Virginia and places them in loving, forever
homes.
HHS has saved hundreds of animals each year since
1991. Many of the dogs and cats we rescue come from
shelters in rural areas where they have fewer adoption
opportunities. The majority of the animals in our care live
with foster parents until they find a permanent home.
We don't have a shelter and most of our animals live in foster homes until they're adopted, which allows us to get to know their personality and temperament. Applicants are carefully screened to ensure we find the right forever home for the dogs and cats we rescue. Our adoption process allows us to learn about potential adopters so we can help find the perfect matcher their home.
