My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Spunk is a brindle beauty with tiger stripes, soft eyes, and a whole lot of love to give.

Life wasn't always easy for this boy before the shelter, but now he's all about fresh starts, belly rubs, and butt scratches.

This goofy guy has two moods: zoomies when he first gets out of his kennel, and then full-on cuddle bug once the wiggles are gone.

His tail never stops wagging (so much so that he's got a little “happy tail” from all that thumping in the kennel).

Spunk is playful and affectionate, the kind of pup who leans on you like a 77-pound weighted blanket, and just melts into the cuddles.

He knows “sit,” takes treats like a pro, and is working on his leash game (70% solid with a few “oops squirrel??” moments).

He's also a bit of a ladies' man! He tends to vibe best with female dogs and would need a proper intro if meeting new dog friends.

Sorry cat people, without consistent and strong training, Spunk says feline roommates are a no.

Spunk's ideal home? A fam that loves goofy zoomies, chill cuddle time, and a dog with personality for days.
He's the perfect mix of energy and snuggles, and he's so ready to be your loyal bestie.

All animals are up-to-date on vaccinations (including rabies if over 4 months old), microchipped, and spayed or neutered. All dogs have been been vaccinated with DHPP and Bordatella (kennel cough) and heartworm tested negative (if over 6 months).    All cats have been vaccinated with FVRCP and current on flea control. Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

*The shelter is currently open for adoptions by appointment only. Please email us at adoptycas@gmail.com if you are interested in adopting.
For other shelter services, please call us at (530) 668-5287*

To adopt you must have a photo ID and proof of your current address. If not on your ID then bring in a bill with your name and your current address. If you rent you must provide a lease clearly stating the pet policy or provide a name and phone number for your landlord so that we may confirm the pet policy. If you own your home you may provide a mortgage statement or property tax bill for proof.

You must be 18 years or older to adopt.

If you wish to adopt a dog and have other dog(s) at home, please bring them with you to the shelter so that they may meet. Even if your dog is wonderful with other dogs, many of the dogs at the shelter have come in as strays so we have no history on them and need to be sure they get along with your pet(s).

If you have any other questions, please go to www.yolocountysheriff.com or call the shelter for more information.
