My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello there! My name is Ryan. I'm a sweet yet timid beagle boy who was just rescued after spending 10 years living within an extreme cruelty case. Every day, the BFP staff tell me how much they love me but, until recently, I'd never known what it was like to be loved-- so it may take me a little while to believe that I'm finally cared for and safe. Right now, I like to hide a lot, just because I'm so scared. But, once you give me a moment to open up to you, my real personality starts to show. It'll only take you a few minutes to learn that I am a gentle, loving, and affectionate boy who is SO ready to find the home that I've always wished for. I do well with other kind and calm dogs and would thrive in a quiet household with adults only or older kids who understand me. I promise to be the most loving and loyal companion you could ever have if you choose to adopt me! After 9 years, I'm so excited to finally have a family! Could you adopt me and make my dreams come true?

🏡 My Home’s Requirements: Another friendly dog in the home is required. I thrive with a canine companion by my side! I also need a home with a fenced yard- I am still too nervous to be walked on a leash!

📍 My Location: NOWATA, OK

Please note: Third-party sites like PetFinder or Adopt-a-Pet may sometimes list multiple locations for the same animal. My correct and current location is the one listed above!

Beagle Freedom Project facilitates out-of-state adoptions, provided the adopter can travel to the animal’s current location for pickup.

Additional adoption info

ABOUT OUR ADOPTION PROCESS: Standardly, Beagle Freedom Project does not facilitate animal meet and greets. Instead, we begin all BFP adoptions with a trial-period; this is called ‘fostering-to-adopt’. At BFP, we believe that the best way for an adopter to be certain that an animal is their perfect match is by giving them an opportunity to truly know each other before finalizing an adoption. As BFP animals come from such traumatic pasts, they can often be shy upon a first meeting. Foster-to-adopt trials allow these special animals an opportunity to decompress and show their authentic personality before an official adoption decision is made.
