My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Say hello to Mickey, a stunning bronze Egyptian Mau with a heart as golden as his coat! This sleek, intelligent boy is looking for his forever home, where he can shower his new family with love, loyalty, and playful antics. He has a personality similar to a Bengal, and he will either need another cat in the home to play with or be adopted with Shadow, a rare smoke Mau.

About Mickey:
Breed: Egyptian Mau
Color: Bronze
Age: 1.5 approximately
Personality: Affectionate, curious, and playful
Energy Level: Active and loves to explore
Good with: [Other cats? Dogs? Kids?]

Mickey is not just a beautiful cat—he’s also incredibly smart and social. He loves interactive play, gentle cuddles, and being your little shadow around the house. With his striking green eyes and unique spotted coat, he’s sure to turn heads wherever he goes!

Looking for a loving home where he can:
Get plenty of playtime and affection
Have cozy spots to lounge in the sun
Be treated like the royal feline he is

Are you ready to welcome this exotic and loving companion into your home? Mickey is waiting to meet you!

All of our cats for adoption are sterilized, fully vaccinated, treated for fleas/worms, are negative for FIV/FELV, have a registered microchip, and come with their travel crate.  Adoptions are on a cost-recovery basis and are tax-deductible to the fullest extent of the law. Potential adopters for our Persian cats need to have prior Persian cat experience as they need to be well cared for.  Grooming, dental, and veterinarian exams are done once a year, and a good quality brand of cat food such as Royal Canin, Hills Science Diet, or Purina Pro plan is the upper tier level with a black label.

We are a rescue and get what we get in terms of cats in need of a home. In no way do we work with breeders or buy the cats from the Friday markets so we can put them up for adoption as a rescue.

Native Mau Cats of Egypt are the oldest known descendants of Egyptian domesticated cats (which have provided a partial foundation for the recent Egyptian Mau cat breed), and they are one of only a few naturally occurring, small, spotted cats in the world. Adoptions are on a cost-recovery basis and by an approved application.   NVEcats aims to increase education in Egypt and around the world about these magnificent and intelligent cats.

Cats and kittens are not adopted out on a “first-come, first-serve” basis. We choose to match our applicants and cats based on what we deem as best suited for that particular cat or kitten.
