Jax is a resilient young beagle boy, approximately 2–3 years old and 26 pounds, who has made an incredible transformation since coming into Midwest BREW's care. He was found this past winter alone in the woods, severely underweight at just 16 pounds and full of worms. He was understandably scared of people, especially men, and had clearly been through a lot.

Fast forward a few months, and Jax is now healthy, playful, and discovering what it means to be a dog for the first time. He's gained weight, his health is great, and his confidence continues to grow every day. It's like he's entering a puppy stage he never got to experience, full of curiosity and joy.

Jax is crate trained and enjoys using his crate as his safe space for naps and downtime. He is mostly house trained and understands the routine, though he may have an accident if left alone for long periods. He rides well in the car and does great at doggy daycare, where he enjoys spending time with other dogs.

While in foster care, Jax had a foster beagle brother, and the two got along wonderfully. Because of this, we believe he would thrive in a home with another dog of similar age and energy level. He's social, playful, and enjoys having a buddy.

Jax is still learning how to trust fully, but he';s come a long way from the scared pup we first met. He needs a family that will continue to build his confidence with love, patience, and consistency. He's not a plug-and-play dog, but he is absolutely worth the time. Once Jax bonds with you, his gentle and loving nature
shines through.

If you're looking for a young, sweet-natured beagle who's ready to start the next chapter of his life, Jax might just be your perfect match!

NOTE: Dog may be located in any of our six volunteer states (WI, IL, IN, OH, PA, MI).
