PRUDENCE, a 10-11 year old Terrier/Beagle mix lost the only home today that she’s ever known. Her owner went into the hospital 2 weeks ago thinking he’d be coming home so he left PRUDENCE with a neighbor. But it turned out, her owner then went to a nursing home and the neighbor called to say he let PRUDENCE run loose and if we didn’t come get her, she’d starve to death because he refused to do anything more for her. We were able to contact the owner and he surrendered PRUDENCE to the Harrison County Dog Pound in Cadiz, OH. Sadly, PRUDENCE is more upset than the former owner. She was infested with fleas and covered in urine and loved her bath. PRUDENCE is good with other dogs and older kids. She might be good with little kids, but we don’t know. We also don’t know about cats. We do know that PRUDENCE is broken hearted. She needs a calm home where she can learn that just because her heart was broken once, it doesn’t mean it will be broken again. Her owner wasn’t sure what her breed mix is. We are guessing Terrier/Beagle. She’s medium sized. She’s used to sleeping in bed with her person. She did have accidents in the house sometimes.
