My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Welcome to Welcome`s world! This girl is just shy of 5 years old, and she is hoping to be able to spend her 5th birthday in a home on her very own. We won`t lie to you, Welcome is not your typical run of the mill kitty. She has a funny personality, and big feelings about certain subjects.

Cats? HATES them. She feels quite strongly about this, and although we have asked her to reconsider, she feels quite firm on this stance.

Being picked up? NOPE. Hard pass. No negotiations.

Those are her top no-nos. Another quirk of hers is that she battles with some anxiety, and it presents as chasing her tail & being quite vocal. Due to this, we have her on two medications to lower those stress levels and help her be more comfortable with her day to day life. Due to being on these medications, we are looking for an adopter who has a relationship with a vet so we can ensure Welcome continues to get her medications daily. Our staff would be more than happy to speak with you further about this.

Given Welcome`s quirks, she will not be appropriate for children. She may do okay with not too busy teens+. She has been whispering in our ear that she`d like to be the only animal in the home. She is a super sweetiepie when she is feeling comfortable with her people, so rest assured she will give you plenty of pleasant company!

Our shelter is open Tuesday-Sunday from 12-4 (closed Mondays). If you are interested in this pet, please review our adoption process at www.lowellhumanesociety.org/adoption/#process so you`re prepared to adopt & stop by the shelter with the required information to take home this pet.

Additional adoption info

You must be 18 years or older to adopt an animal. A valid ID is required.

If you own your own home, please provide proof of home-ownership; a mortgage receipt, tax bill, water bill or deed will suffice.

If you rent, please bring your lease which states the type of pet you are interested in and that it is accepted or the name and phone of your landlord so we can verify the pet is allowed. Inquire with your landlord about any size or breed restrictions.

Please check with your home owner’s insurance company or landlord to find out if they have any restrictions on the breed(s) of dog they cover. Common breeds that may not be covered include: Pit Bulls, Doberman Pinschers, Rottweilers and German Shepherds.

For the health and safety of the pet you are interested in adopting and your existing pets, we ask that you provide proof of current vaccinations and spay/neuter status for pets in your home. (We may be able to call your veterinarian if you do not have a copy available.)

A new pet is a family decision and we ask that all members of your family meet the pet and agree on the suitability for your household.

If you already have a dog(s) in your home please bring the dog(s) with you to meet the dog you are considering to see if they are compatible.

Complete an adoption application and talk with a staff member for more information about the animal you are considering.
