Mystique has been through a lot in her 3 years. She was adopted through us and then dumped at the city shelter in terrible shape. She was in severe pain due to untreated dental and gum issues, and was running out of time. Once we found out she was at the shelter, we rushed to get her and nursed her back to health. She had severe stomatitis and dental disease that was untreated, and needed to undergo multiple surgeries to correct it. She needed all of her teeth removed, and is currently on a daily medication to control the stomatitis. She takes her medication like a champ in a churu treat, and doesn't mind it at all! She is currently on a monthly pain injection that takes about five minutes to administer. An adopter would just need to bring her back to us for this injection. Her lack of teeth sometimes makes her tongue stick out, and sometimes she drools a little bit... it's very cute!
Mystique would be the perfect cat for a family who are home to give her all the attention and love she desires. She loves to sit next to her people and follow them around room to room. She will even sleep in bed with you every night! She is a silly little lady, who loves to run over to the tap to play with and drink the water. She is very playful, and loves to play fetch when the mood strikes her. She's incredibly affectionate, and loves to look at her people with her tiny blep and big, round eyes.
She can occasionally get overstimulated and lay down the law with a little swat, but never with claws.
Mystique was rescued with dental issues and had surgery. We would be thrilled for a potential adopter to provide a larger adoption donation (between $250 and $400 total) and/or assistance crowdsourcing funds towards their necessary vet bills if possible. An adopter will just need to work with their vet to manage any flare ups of her stomatitis, but her daily medication is working very well at this time.
Mystique can be adopted with another polite cat, but would probably prefer to be adopted alone. She can coexist with other cats just fine, as long as they don't get too in her face!
