Rosalee is a 2-year-old Labrador/Pit Bull mix with a heart of gold. She came to us underweight, but even in her fragile state, she has shown nothing but kindness, playfulness, and love. With steady meals and care, Rosalee is gaining strength and beginning to blossom into the happy, healthy dog she was always meant to be.
She’s currently working on leash training and basic commands, and she’s eager to please—especially when treats are involved! Rosalee is affectionate, playful, and gentle, making her a wonderful companion for walks, adventures, or quiet cuddle time on the couch. She enjoys being around people and has the potential to do well with other dogs after proper introductions.
What Rosalee needs most is a patient, loving family who will continue to help her grow in confidence and health. In return, she will reward you with loyalty, joy, and unconditional love every single day. Submit Application

Find the online application at the link below.

Interview

Normally someone will call you after the application is received.

3.
Meet the Pet

Meet and greets are usually at our kennel in Ellijay but other locations may be considered.

4.
Take the Pet Home

If the meet and greet goes well, paperwork is signed, fees are paid, and the pet may be taken home on a trial basis for up to 30 days.

Additional adoption info

All dogs are spayed/neutered, microchipped, current to age on vaccines, dewormed, heartworm negative, and started on heartworm preventative and flea preventative. Adoption fee for dogs are approximately $200 cash, check or debit card.

All cats are spayed/neutered, microchipped, current on vaccines, dewormed, FELV/FIV negative and started on flea preventative. Adoption fees are set based on the animal but typically around 65.00 cash, check or debit/creditt card.

Application review and approval is required prior to adopting. Adopters must be at least 21 years old.

Go meet their pets

We hold monthly adoption open houses at our kennel in Ellijay, Ga. We also arrange to do adoptions at the kennel by appointment. So if one of our pets pulls at your heart, contact us and we will set up a "meet and greet" to start the adoption process.

Adoptions are held at other various locations from time to time around the Gilmer County / Ellijay area.

Homeward Bound is a 501(c)(3) non-profit, no-kill organization based in Gilmer County, Georgia, which began in August 2000. We are dedicated to providing a safe and nurturing environment for unwanted companion animals, while actively seeking permanent homes through our adoption programs. We take in dogs and cats that are found as strays, owner surrenders and abandoned. We also take animals out of high kill shelters to prevent them from being euthanized. We have rescued and adopted out about 7,000 animals.
