My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Kenzie - Your Sweet, Spotted Snugglebug! Kenzie is a 11-month-old Pit Bull mix with the cutest white coat sprinkled with brown spots and a heart full of love. Weighing around 48 lbs, she's the perfect medium-sized companion who will melt your heart the moment you meet her. Kenzie is the total package - playful, gentle, and incredibly sweet. She adores being around people and has a special soft spot for children. You'll often find her happily wagging her tail while walking around the subdivision or curling up for a cozy nap with her foster mom and dad. She loves car rides and going to new places, like PetSmart, Lowe's, or to the park. She also gets along great with her furry siblings and wants to play all the time. Kenzie is a sweet and playful pup, who thrives on fun and companionship. As a puppy, she would love to burn some energy playing with a furry friend. A friendly resident dog would be a great playmate and a role model to help guide her as she continues to grow and learn. Kenzie would especially enjoy a companion to chase around the backyard, play with the toys, and curl up next to, after the play session. This brave girl has already overcome so much--after being injured in a car accident, she spent about 6 weeks at the shelter with a broken hip, before we rescued her. She then underwent surgery to repair her back leg, followed by the therapy to help her recover. She is very resilient and although she was in pain for a while, she developed coping mechanism to get her through her ordeal. She continues doing some exercises to strengthen her leg. Kenzie still has a bit of a limp and may always have a little of uneven gait. But it doesn't slow her down and always has an upbeat spirit. She's now happy, joyful, and ready for her forever home! Kenzie is fully vaccinated, spayed, microchipped, crate trained, and potty trained. She's the kind of pup who will bring joy, laughter, and unconditional love into your home. If you're looking for a best friend who's equal parts fun and snuggly, Kenzie is your girl. Come meet her and see why everyone falls in love with her sweet spirit! If you're interested in adopting this cute, deserving girl, please email us at info@barkvilledogrescue.org or submit an application at https://www.barkvilledogrescue.org/applications. Additional adoption info

The dogs that we have available for adoption have come from shelters where they were found stray or were given up by their owners. These dogs have been let down by humans in the past and may be suffering from physical ailments or abuse. So, by the time these dogs come into our rescue group they have been thru a lot and need a home that can provide them with structure, guidance, love, patience and time to adjust to their new surroundings. Please understand that as dogs transition from shelter to foster home to forever home there can be set backs along the way and they will need your help to adjust.

All dogs that are adopted from BarkVille are spayed or neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and provided with all necessary veterinary care. However, owning a pet can be expensive and you must be prepared to provide quality food, monthly heartworm medication, monthly flea and tick medication, yearly shots and routine checkups. In addition, you must prepare for accidents and illnesses that may require expensive treatment or surgeries. Many times our dogs have ended up in shelters because their previous owners were not prepared for these expenses and we want to ensure this never happens to them again.

We strive to know and understand each of our dogs so that we can work to find the best match for each dog and adopter.

Our adoption process includes an adoption application, adoption interview, meet and greet, veterinary reference check, personal reference check and home visit prior to making the adoption final. We reserve the right to deny any application that we feel is not a good fit for any of our dogs for any reason. If you are ready to make a commitment to one of our dogs please complete the adoption application and submit for review. The adoption fees vary based on the age of the animal: Age 7 and up is $300, Between age 7 to 1 year is $350. Puppies under the age of 1 year is $400.

More about this rescue

BarkVille Dog Rescue is an all-volunteer non-profit. We envision a world where all dogs reside in responsible, loving homes.

Dogs in our care are spayed or neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and receive all appropriate veterinary care and treatment. The dogs are then placed in foster homes while they await placement into their permanent home.

Our goal is to help dogs without regard to age, breed, size, or ease of placement. To the extent our finances allow, dogs in the greatest need take priority.
